          About this tracker

          What counts

          A measure is included when the question itself is about data centers: bans and megawatt caps, zoning referendums on data center sites, agreements with data center developers, voter-approval requirements written to stop a data center, and advisory questions asking whether to allow them.

          Compiled from Ballotpedia's 2026 data center measure tracking, MultiState's September 2026 roundup, county election offices, and local reporting as of mid-October 2026. Ballot language is quoted where an official text was available and marked as a paraphrase otherwise.

          How the numbers work

          Restrict / Allow
          Each question's YES and NO are mapped to the anti-data-center side (Restrict) and the pro-data-center side (Allow), so a NO vote on a "should the council approve data centers" question counts as Restrict.
          Leading, early, won
          Leading means ahead by 2 points or more. An early count has under half the precincts in. Won means a final count or every precinct reporting; in states that count mail ballots for days, such as California and Nevada, only a final count. Nothing here is certified.
          Too close
          Margin under 2 points.
          Typical share
          The median of the Restrict side's percentage across measures with votes, so a small village counts the same as a city. The pooled figure adds up raw votes instead.
          Votes remaining
          A rough estimate that assumes unreported precincts are the same size as reported ones. Treat it as a hint, not a projection.
          Changed since you last looked
          Your browser remembers the counts from when you last left the page for more than a few minutes (or closed it) and marks what moved since. Nothing is sent anywhere.

          Every race links to the county election office page the numbers come from. Results refresh automatically every minute from results.json (also as results.csv); the race registry is races.json.
